Alpenglow has won two 2026 w3 Awards.

The w3 Awards are run by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts and recognise the best in websites, apps, video and digital marketing.

This year, Alpenglow was recognized in their Mobile category:

Gold for Best Practices
Silver for Best User Interface

Alpenglow has been a side project for over 10 years, so it means a lot to see it recognised alongside apps built by full teams.

Both awards are for things I care about. Best Practices means building for the whole platform: Widgets, Live Activities, Dynamic Type, Accessibility and localisation. Best User Interface means making the interface easy to use, adopting platform interface guidelines and making it a joy to use.

Thank you to everyone who uses Alpenglow, sends feedback and shares their sunrises & sunsets. A lot of what the judges saw came from your suggestions.
